Potato Polo

For this game you'll need a potato and some pantyhose for each player. Tie a knot in the end of the pantyhose and put in a potato for your "mallet". Then just get an average-sized ball and something to mark your goals with. You play just like hockey. You might want a smoother playing surface like a gym floor instead of a lawn, but either way this is a fun game that is more challenging than you think! The unpredictability of the "mallet" makes it even more fun and challenging even for skilled athletes.

St. Anthony Sand Dunes

Whether you love to four wheel and dirt bike, or you just want to relax in the sand and have some fun, the Sand Dunes are where you want to be. The Dunes are a great place to just go out and play, and then have a bonfire in the evening. In the winter it's a perfect place to go sledding too. The Dunes are also close to Egin Lake and the Ice Caves and the Civil Defense Caves.

Here's a website for directions and more information:

Green Canyon Hot Springs

One of the best things about Rexburg is that it's really close to a lot of hot springs. Green Canyon Hot Springs is a super fun swimming pool/hot tub/cold pool and it's not expensive. It's also not far from Rexburg. So have fun in the winter or summer and go swimming!

Ugly Sweater Contest

As lame as this might sound, it's actually really fun. Just get a bunch of people together and have them all try to find and wear the ugliest sweater. In Rexburg, the D.I. is a perfect place to find sweaters. Serve treats, play games, and vote on who has the ugliest sweater! The same idea works for "Superhero Night" "80's Contest" or any other kind of contest that involves dressing up....you get the idea.

Crack Bust!

Summertime and looking for something fun to do in Rexburg? Look no further than baking flour and mini marshmallows. That's right. Crack Bust is the name of the game. What you do is buy a few pounds of baking flour, cheap non-zipping plastic baggies, mini colored marshmallows and some pcp pipe. Fill the baggies with the baking flour creating flour bombs. Then you go to the local hardware shore and buy some pcp pipe that the colored mini marshmallows can fit into. If you ask the the hardware store they will cut the pipe into 12 inch segments for you. Now you can a marshmallow spitter.Once everything is all set up you head to a park. Porter park is a good one if you can. Then at the count of 3..2..1.. the group of people start throwing flour bombs and spitting marshmallows at each other. It's sounds crazy! but it's a lot of fun!

Bigger Or Better

This is a classic group activity similar to a scavenger hunt. The idea is pretty simple. Just pick a neighborhood, split into small groups and go house to house trying to find something bigger or better than the last item you found.

Example:
Each group starts with any random object like a paper clip, magazine, pencil, etc. Take it to the first house and ask to trade it with something bigger or better. If you start with a magazine, they might trade it for a book which you take to the next house and ask for something bigger or better than the book and so on. The group that ends with the biggest or best object wins.

It's a fun, easy game that yields very interest results. If you have any memories from playing this, just add a comment to this pos
